Star Focus – Shin Hyesung

Shin Hye Sung

PROFILE
D.O.B.: November 27, 1979
Debut Album: 1998, Shinhwa’s 1st Album, “Superman.”
Other Activities: 2003, Member of the Project Group “S”

Sometimes he sings of love with the sweetest of voices, sometime he sings of separation with a voice that’s weighed down with tears.
He’s a guy who has class. Today’s STAR FOCUS invites you on a date with Shin Hye-sung.
Armed with his repackaged second album, Shin Hye-sung shows off a new maturity in his work. “The Beginning, New Days – Special Edition” will reveal an image transformation for the star.

This is the music video for “Erase, Discard, Forget”, the sequel following the story of his song, “First Love”.
He has a strong attachment to his new album – Shin Hye-sung even decided to act in his video himself, experiencing his FIRST on-screen kiss!

Shin Hye-sung’s performance has opened up the public’s eyes to his ability to act.
Other members of Shinhwa have already begun to broaden their horizons by acting in dramas, movies, and musicals. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Shin had been tempted before! We asked if he was planning on becoming a multi-tainer.

Every album that Shin Hye-sung has released so far, received endless amounts of love from his fans. He knows he needs their support and tries to show his appreciation the best he knows how – through incredible music!
The funny thing is that through all the love and support – Shin often finds himself feeling oddly alone.

In May, 2005, Shin Hye-sung decided to step forward as a soloist. He released his FIRST solo album, “Same Thought”.
The titled track, “Same Thought”, was incredibly popular, AND signified the start of a successful solo career.

Next year, Shinhwa is looking at the TEN-year anniversary since their debut.
Shinhwa is a group with the longest run so far in Korean pop music.
All members of Shinhwa have managed to sustain careers outside of their success as a group. They have all become much bigger and more substantial than any of them had thought they would!

Shin Hye-sung was also in a different group once, with best friends Kangta and Lee Ji-hoon. The hottest stars of their time, they managed to come together as the popular group, S.

We remember when Shin Hye-sung came bursting out on-stage, singing “Superman” at the top of his 21-year old lungs.
Now, almost 10 years later, he lets experience and age add depth to his voice.
How does he see himself in ANOTHER ten years?

Shin Hye-sung… a singer who sounds the SAME whether you’re listening to his CD OR listening to him sing live!! Now THAT’S how talented he is!
Even as time goes by, we believe that he may have the skills it takes to become a legend in K-pop.
